Free:

• MySQL - runs well - FREE. FreeBSD/Linux/Solaris/SCO/NT/Win32/OS2 supported. Won Linux Readers award.
• Beagle SQL - unknown - doesn't look as robust as postgres. FREE. Runs on Solaris, SCO, Linux, Irix, & HP/UX.
• Mini SQL - not as robust as postgres - FREE.
• Postgres - runs okay - FREE. FreeBSD/Linux/Solaris and most other Unixes supported.

Commercial:

• Informix - runs okay. Linux supported.
• Oracle - a very robust database for Unix. Linux supported.
• Sybase - a faster database -- good for internet transactions due to less overhead.

System Admin Tools

• Hp Openview - Also Monitors system for full filesystems, etc. Integrated with many products.
• Sun Enterprise SyMON - a free system management utility for Solaris systems.
• Halcyon add-on modules for Sun Enterprise SyMON - Monitor databases, applications and other platforms ( NT) through the Sun Management Center console.

• Mailman - free software to help manage mailing lists -- gives each mailing list a web page, allows users to subscribe/unsubscribe on the web, administrator can administer entirely from web.
• L-Soft - free trail copies. Could NOT find real price on website. Claims to be one of the largest.

Paging

• Telamon Web Page - commercial strength paging capabilities. Handles two way pagers well. Nice tool.

• Remedy Web Page - I like gnu's better -- but this one has more features.
